The sophisticated three, four and five axis machining centers in our milling department allow us to manipulate a part under the machine spindle to perform multiple machining operations in one setup. Programmable indexers and tilting rotary tables enable us to machine parts on up to five adjacent ninety degree surfaces and any compound angle. This gives us the ability to machine very complex parts, often in a single setup. At MSI, this is how we transfer the accuracy of the machine into the parts we make. Many of our milling machines have two pallet shuttle systems that allow us to machine parts on one pallet while loading parts on the second pallet, providing shorter and more consistent part cycle times. Additionally, the second pallet can be used for setup of the next job, which results in reduced setup time. All of these machine accessories add to the overall efficiency of our milling department. |
